This is a short film inspired by a true story.
Yunosuke Yasukawa, the founding chairman of Toray, set out to accomplish something that had never been achieved in Japan before: the domestic production of rayon.
At the time, there was no guarantee of success. For Japan, pursuing rayon production was a solitary and uncertain challenge.
Even so, Yasukawa firmly believed that this technology would one day support the future of the nation. With that belief, he devoted everything to the pursuit.
He gathered engineers from across borders, and no matter how many times he failed, he never stopped moving forward.
The determination woven into a single thread became the very origin of Toray-a spirit that continues to be passed down to this day.
