“Kodansha Editorial Film” is a video production initiative that goes beyond simply turning
what companies and communities want to communicate into visual content.

Drawing on the editorial expertise that Kodansha has cultivated as a publishing company,
the initiative seeks to uncover values and stories that have yet to be put into words—and preserve them for the future as films.

Editors go into the field, meet people, listen to their voices, and uncover stories that could only come from that particular company or community.

The goal is not to create advertising content that is quickly consumed and forgotten,
but to create stories that will stay with people ten years from now and beyond.
To explore the possibilities of this approach on a broader scale,
we are launching a new collaborative project between Kodansha and the film festival at Visual EXPO by BRANDED SHORTS,
where the full picture of an [entirely new award] will be unveiled live on stage.

Through the launch of this new award and its future development,
we hope to expand the possibilities of a new kind of branded film together with creators, companies, and local governments.
