the AIR

Generative AI has advanced rapidly over the past year or two, widening the range of what can be expressed.

Jun Ishikawa, President and CEO of PYRAMID FILM QUADRA INC.,
surveys how generative AI is being taken up in content production and where the currents are heading.
He is joined by Takeshi Kushida, director of Last Dream,
and YUUUKI, director of ULTIMA BRAND MOVIE and POSTMAN, who speak about the landscape surrounding generative AI film today.

What can generative AI actually do at this point? And what does that mean for the way brands express themselves?
Drawing on leading case studies and the craft behind them, this session maps where AI film now stands.

For creators, and for those working in brand marketing, communications and PR,
it is a chance to take stock of the present moment and find a starting point for what comes next.

Guest

Atsushi Ishikawa
President & CEO, Pyramid Film Quadra Inc.

Atsushi Ishikawa joined Pyramid Film Quadra in 2007 and currently serves as the company’s President & CEO.
For the past 19 years, he has been engaged in the planning and production of a wide range of digital projects, including websites, apps, XR, and interactive experiences.

Working at the intersection of technology and creativity,
he has been involved in a diverse array of digital promotions and communication design projects. In recent years,
he has actively embraced rapidly evolving AI technologies, focusing on enhancing the value of creative work and project design.

Rather than viewing AI simply as a tool for greater efficiency,
Ishikawa sees it as a technology that can expand human imagination, expression, and experiences.
He aims to create new forms of content experiences augmented by AI.

YUUUKI
AI Creator / Director, PYRAMID FILM INC.

Building on the sense of structure he developed editing television programmes,
YUUUKI works across generative AI, live action, animation and CG, taking a project from concept and direction through to final finish.
He makes both commercial work and original films; his best-known pieces,
ULTIMA BRAND MOVIE and POSTMAN, have been awarded and selected at CICLOPE Asia Pacific, the Runway AI Film Festival and other festivals in Japan
and abroad. What interests him is not the novelty of the technology itself,
but the emotion and the story that rise up beyond it
— and he continues to explore what visual expression can become in the age of AI.

Takeshi Kushida
Film Director, PYRAMID FILM INC.

Takeshi Kushida joined PYRAMID FILM in 2006.
He received an ACC Gold Award for the Black Thunder Rap Battle campaign and has since directed a wide range of commercials and branded content,
including recent projects incorporating AI for Tokyo City Keiba and Sumitomo Heavy Industries.

His feature films include Woman of the Photographs,
My Mother's Eyes, and Acting for Beginners. His latest short film, Last Dream,
won the top prize in the AI category at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.

He has also spoken at the SKIP City International D-Cinema Festival
and at an international conference hosted by Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs.
Through both his filmmaking and commercial work, he continues to explore the creative possibilities of AI and moving images.
